Tutoring by a Credentialed, Orton-Gillingham Certified, Teacher
If you’re searching for an affordable Orton-Gillingham certified reading tutor who can provide you with evidence-based reading instruction aligned with the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy, look no further! I am an Orton-Gillingham certified educator and credentialed teacher with my master's degree in teaching. I have over seven years experience teaching reading intervention and special education.
I am certified in, and utilize, the Institute for Multi-sensory Education's research-based Orton-Gillingham approach to teach reading. I recently completed IMSE's Orton-Gillingham Practicum and am a CERI certified Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI). I am also working on my Reading Science Certificate at Mount St. Joseph University. My main focus is working with students with specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. I provide online tutoring across the US, or in-person tutoring in Fort Wayne, IN to students in preschool through 6th grade.
My Story
A Professional Instructor at Your Service
I am a teacher turned dyslexia tutor, focused solely on teaching students how to read using a method backed by extensive research. I taught for four years in Bonsall, CA. My first three years I taught both mild/moderate special education as well as reading intervention. My fourth year I taught reading intervention at two diverse elementary schools within the district. Before obtaining my job at BUSD, I was a student teacher in both a K-3 resource classroom and in a kindergarten classroom. I substitute taught for a year while working towards my teaching credentials. Teaching reading is my passion and seeing my students grow and excel is my reason for teaching. I have extension knowledge of the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading. I am a proud advocate of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy.
